Biography

I'd like to introduce myself and give you an overview of my professional experience in psychology.  I grew up in Southern California and earned an undergraduate double major in Christian Education and Psychology from Biola University in La Mirada, CA. I then entered graduate training at Rosemead School of Psychology, receiving my MA in Psychology in 2002, and beginning to work as a part time therapist in addition to my graduate studies.  In 2004, I made the trek across the country to the Norwich University Counseling Center in Northfield , VT for my doctoral internship. During that year I received intensive training focused on contemporary psychoanalytic approaches to therapy. After receiving my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2005, I worked as a therapist at the Center for Individual and Family Therapy and supervised doctoral students in their clinical practicum at the Biola Counseling Center. In the summer of 2009, I relocated to the Denver area. After moving to Colorado, I began practicing at Southwest Counseling Associates in Littleton, CO, doing both psychotherapy and psychological testing. In 2011, I set off on my own and have been working in my own private practice ever since. I have also taught graduate students as adjunct faculty in a number of MA Counseling programs and in the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program at University of Denver. Courses I have taught include counseling theories, psychodynamic therapy, psychological testing and assessment, the integration of psychology and theology, couples counseling, and psychological diagnoses. I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Colorado.
